About My Work

Whether writing a product description, crafting in-store signage, or giving feedback to my direct report, I always lead with empathy.

I started my career interviewing people and putting their stories to paper as a journalist. When I made the switch to ecommerce, I had a two month training period in customer service which imprinted on me the importance of each customer’s experience.

My digital writing journey began by partnering closely with UX designers, instilling in me an obsession with the user journey and chipping away at making it as smooth as possible.

Once I became a team lead, I used empathy as my guiding light in coaching my team and working with cross-departmental leaders.

In any situation and on any team, I show how hard work and truly understanding your audience’s point of view are vital to achieving results while retaining a healthy team mindset.

About Me

Now for the personal stuff.

I am a mother of two toddler boys (3 and 1) and am living in Phoenix, AZ, with my husband, sons, and our silly pup, Pappy.

Becoming a mother has completely reshaped my point of view on nearly everything, including many aspects of work. First of all, my tolerance for chaos is enormous. My communication skills have improved even more. And my prioritization of what truly is important and shouldn't be dwelled upon is razor sharp. You see, discussing family finances with my husband over the dinner table while both boys take turns shouting, "HONK!" at each other and the dog jumps up to steal food isn't a rare occasion in my house. Surprisingly, after a post-bedtime 5-minute mediation, you walk away from that situation learning a lot.

But really, for the more sappy stuff. I love what I do and think that I am good at it. I want to be an example to my sons of a strong female leader who blends family life with providing for that family well.
